A hatchling i snatched out of the Murrumbidgee in the Bullen Range NR. It looks a bit different to me. Could it be a Maquarie?
Hey John, et al This is probably offspring from a release? C.longicollis is already under un natural pressure along the Murrumbidgee from foxes , pigs, Pacific Herons etc Have a think if there are any managment implications for us. I suggest no direct control possible but some preventative awareness/educational type actions are possible. Today an Em tomorrow a Red eared Slider....... Ill feed any recommendations up line too but please cc Darren.roso@act.gov.au Thanks
It seems an odd locality for this species. ANWC do have specimens from Lake Burrinjuck going back many years and I would not be surprised at releases clouding the issue. Good luck with this management problem!
