This is an interesting one, Alison. Are those blister-like lumps on the elytra an abnormality? Are they the same on both sides? - they don't seem to be.

Possibly Pterohelaeus oblongus. I can't find any online images with a dorsal aspect, so confirmation is pending.

Interesting! May be one of the superfamily Cucujoidea, but I haven't found a good match.
